Finish the offline checks before opening the mobile LIVE
Confirm that the target account currently offers the intended computer-streaming route. In OBS, load the correct account profile, check the portrait or landscape scene, listen to microphone and media, and confirm upload capacity while no public output is running. Identify who will keep the phone’s official session screen visible and who will inspect the viewer page.
- Do not open a session just to discover that the scene or sound is unprepared.
- Keep stream credentials out of shared checklists and screenshots.
Transfer the current session values without delay
When the account presents “Transfer to PC/Mac,” follow the current TikTok prompts; the published UK flow shows the RTMP server and stream key after Go LIVE. Copy that server/key pair into the OBS instance assigned to the same account, inspect for extra spaces, then start streaming when the scene is ready. There is no safe universal key lifetime or waiting interval to assume: if the room is recreated or the parameters change, stop the old output and obtain the values shown for the new session.
- Keep the mobile control screen available until the official room and viewer result agree.
- Never combine a server URL from one room with a key from another.
Confirm the handover on a real viewer page
Watch the official TikTok room state while a separate device opens the intended account’s current LIVE. Verify the account and room, moving picture, sound and orientation; refresh after a brief delay if the page still says “Starting Soon.” A successful OBS connection establishes only the encoder side, and TikTok LIVE Studio’s mobile preview is a preparation aid rather than proof of public delivery.
- Record the moment OBS started and when the first viewer saw picture and sound.
- Do not leave the handover unattended before this check passes.
Recover by identifying the failed stage
If OBS rejects the connection, recheck the current room’s account, server/key pair and the OBS error without exposing the key. If OBS connects but viewers see a placeholder, compare TikTok’s room state with the current viewer URL before changing bitrate. If the feed drops or stalls, use OBS connection and dropped-frame information to examine the upload path. Follow platform prompts for a failed or ended room; a client cannot grant missing LIVE access.
- Change one factor at a time and repeat the same viewer-side check.
- For support, save the time, account/room identifier, sanitized error and connection symptoms.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Start here for common questions about purchasing, access and system requirements.
Should I get the mobile stream key long before the show?
Prepare scenes and audio early, but get the server/key pair for the current LIVE near the handover. TikTok does not provide one universal validity period for every account or route.
Is the broadcast ready when OBS says connected?
Not yet proven. Check TikTok’s official room state and confirm moving video and audio from an independent viewer device.
