Map every source and remove duplicate capture
List the microphone, desktop or application audio, and media-file sound needed for the scene. Capturing the same device globally and inside a scene can produce echo or doubled audio.
- Name sources by device or application.
- Mute or remove capture paths that are not part of the broadcast.
Set levels with the real program material
Speak and play the actual media while watching peaks. Keep voice intelligible over music, avoid clipping, and use monitoring carefully so speaker output does not feed back into the microphone.
- Test voice and media separately before combining them.
- Use headphones when monitoring may create feedback.
Diagnose no sound from source to viewer
Check the active scene, mute state, intended track and operating-system device. Then confirm the received LIVE from another device; each OBS instance can have a different audio route.
- Reconnect a changed or disconnected device explicitly.
- Recheck the viewer result after every audio change.

Start here for common questions about purchasing, access and system requirements.
Why do OBS meters move while TikTok viewers hear nothing?
The source can be active locally but routed to the wrong track or output. Check the selected track and test the received LIVE.
Why does the stream have echo?
The same device may be captured more than once, or monitored speaker audio may return through the microphone.
